Privacy Agreement – Real Career Talk Services

This Agreement is effective immediately for non-Member visitors and Members registering accounts.

This Privacy Agreement (the “Terms”) governs your privacy within “Real Career Talk Services”: the websites (including, without limitation, RealCareerTalk.com, ExploreMyOptions.org, and their extensions), the platform to search for information, the online group communities that facilitate professional learning and networking, associated site support and troubleshooting, any external applications used to access these tools, as well as the emails, messaging, and mobile applications.

Real Career Talk Services requires users to create individual profiles that include personal information, (“Profiles”) of which aspects thereof will become public. In this section, we will help explain what data we collect, what we use it for, and proactive measures you can take to protect your privacy.

By accessing and using Real Career Talk Services, You agree to comply with these Terms. If You are using Real Career Talk Services on behalf of a company or other legal entity, You agree to be bound by these Terms even if we have separate agreement with You. If You do not accept the Terms stated here, do not use Real Career Talk Services. (The Terms “we”, ā€œourā€, and “us” refer to Real Career Talk Services: the doing-business-as (DBA) name for Explore My Options, a New Jersey Limited Liability Corporation.)

Real Career Talk Services may revise these Terms at any time by posting an updated version to our webpage. You should visit this page periodically to review the most current Terms because they are binding on You. Users who violate these Terms may have their access and use of the Real Career Talk Services suspended or terminated, at Real Career Talk Servicesā€™ discretion.

Our mission is to help you identify careers paths that fit with the lifestyle you want to live and your interests. In order to enhance your exploring experience, we ask each user in our community to share information within our community and with selected 3rd parties, as explained further below.

To protect the quality of the information shared within the Real Career Talk community, we consider it a top priority to ensure you always feel protected and empowered, with regard to your privacy. Your ability to remain transparent, in joining our community, is a fundamental component to our site. As such, we promise to protect your privacy by complying with the terms below.

What data do we collect?

  1. We collect data including, but not limited to, what is outlined here:
    1. Data provided directly by you, such as:
      1. Data in your registration form (ie. Name, gender, age, email address, address, etc.)
      2. Data in your profile form (ie. Job title, lifestyle, role and employer satisfaction, etc.)
      3. Data shared in your communication and site interactions
  2. Data gathered automatically about you:
    1. Data from or about the computers, phones, or other devices you use to access our Services
      1. Attributes such as the operating system, hardware version, device settings, file and software names and types, battery and signal strength, and device identifiers.
      2. Device locations, including specific geographic locations, such as through GPS, Bluetooth, or WiFi signals.
      3. Connection information such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, browser type, language and time zone, mobile phone number and IP address.

What is the information collected used for?

We do not share information with that personally identifies you: your name and your email address. Within Real Career Talk Services, you are linked to your information only through your chosen username. All information published on Real Career Talk Services is public.

  1. The information we collect may be used to:
    1. Promote safety and security throughout the site, by verifying accounts and investigating suspicious activity
    2. Deliver the products and services we offer to our community, respond to you, and operate and improve our sites and applications.
      1. Some data in your registration and profile forms (ie. role and employer satisfaction, etc.) are shared directly within the site community, with your username provided
      2. Other data helps us better understand the demographics of our users, in order to better serve the community (home address, age, gender, etc.)
    3. Contact you about Real Career Talk Services updates, conduct surveys, or to provide informational and service-related communications, including important security updates
    4. Help expand the Real Career Talk Services Community (ie. sharing with others outside the community roles of interest through social media, email, etc. in order to promote what the community offers and to grow membership)
    5. Show and measure ads that deliver more personalized content to you, with 3rd parties we have established business relationship with
    6. Provide feedback to third parties on how to become more attractive employers, on the aggregate basis only (again, not including your name or email address).

 

How Can You Further Protect your Privacy?

  1. Some tips to further protect your privacy include:
    1. As your data is shared to the community via your username, make your username something that is not easily recognizable to others. Do not post your full name or other private information in comments or in the site groups, unless you are comfortable with associating your name with your account.
    2. To change your username, you have to contact us, using the contact form on the ā€œAbout Usā€ page.
      1. You may access, review, correct, update, or deactivate your user registration at any time by signing into your account or contacting us.
      2. Included in your profile are privacy settings. Some of the information you provide when you join the site is automatically marked as private, while other aspects you have the option to change certain fields to private.
      3. While these settings will apply to what other community members can see, we reserve the right to compile and aggregate information (without your name or email address), even marked as private in your settings, about you.
  2. Information you share in public areas of Real Career Talk Services or make visible in your profile database may be accessed, used, and stored by others around the world. We strive to provide a safe environment by attempting to limit access to our database to legitimate users, but we cannot guarantee that unauthorized parties will not gain access. We also cannot control how authorized users store or transfer information you give to us, so you should not post sensitive information to Real Career Talk Services. In some cases, members of the community may download or re-share this content with others on and off our Services. How do we protect your data?

  1. We promise to you:
    1. We will keep our privacy statement about our Services publicly available to you, so that you may review it upon your continued use of Real Career Talk Services.
      1. As such, any continued use of our services, after changes to the privacy agreement take place, means you are consenting to the changes.
    2. If you do not agree to these terms, you may deactivate your account
      1. Your user registration information can be deleted (name, username, etc.), and all of your profile content will be transferred to the former user account.
      2. When you delete your personal information, we will retain logs that may include your personal information about your activity on Real Career Talk. We will also retain an archival copy of your information which is not accessible by you or third parties on the Internet. If your personal information was previously accessed by others using Real Career Talk Services, we are unable to delete the information from the archiving systems.
      3. Any information obtained and saved from your time as an active user, outside of Real Career Talk Services, we will not be able to nor be responsible to delete.

 

What do we reserve the rights to do with your data?

  1. We reserve the rights, in regards to our visitors and users, to:
    1. Collect, store, and maintain information about you, including but not limited to, the data and information outlined above.
    2. To work with and share relevant information to third party companies, who help us provide and improve our Services.
    1. Sell and disclose to third parties information related to their requests and/or services they provide, without compromising your name or email address.
    2. Disclose and transfer information to a third party who acquires any or all of Real Career Talk Services.

How do we respond to legal requests or prevent harm?

  1. In regards to how we proceed when the safety or privacy of yourself or others is in question, we will act in our own sole discretion for each circumstance. You acknowledge that:
    1. We may access, preserve and share your information in response to a legal request (like a search warrant, court order or subpoena), if we have a good faith belief that the law requires us to do so. This includes responding to jurisdictions outside of the United States, where we have good faith to believe that the response is required by law in that jurisdiction, affects users in that jurisdiction, and is consistent with internationally recognized standards.
    2. We may also access, preserve and share information when we have a good faith belief it is necessary to: detect, prevent and address fraud and other illegal activity; to protect ourselves, you, and others, including as part of investigations; or to prevent death or imminent bodily harm.
    3. Information we maintain about you may be accessed, processed and retained for an extended period of time when it is the subject of a legal request or obligation, governmental investigation, or investigations concerning possible violations of our terms or policies, or otherwise to prevent harm.
    4. We also may retain information from accounts disabled for violations of our terms for at least a year to prevent repeat abuse or other violations of our terms.
